Tuesday afternoon we briefly visited Bethany Beach, DE to find the Bethany Beach Webcam geocache.
We visited Cape Henlopen State Park, which is just north of Rehoboth Beach, DE. We hiked through the marsh around Gordon's Pond, and found the Gordons Pond Flyway #1 geocache. We also played on the nearby beach.
In the evening, we found the Rehoboth Beach Webcam geocache, ate at Nicolas Pizza, and had ice cream across the street.
Wednewday morning, we located the 1812 Park geocache in downtown historic Lewes, DE.
We took the Cape May-Lewes Ferry from Lewes, DE to Cape May, NJ.
In Cape May, we first located the 1963 Corvair geocache near Higbee Beach, and then we located the Last Circle in South Joisey geocache in Cape May Point.
We spent the afternoon on Sunset Beach, where we collected "Cape May Diamonds" (small quartz pebbles) to bring home and polish in the rock tumbler. We also located the Sink or Swim virtual geocache, which was a blue sign describing the sunken cement ship S.S. Atlantus.
Later in the day we checked in to the Montreal Inn, on the Atlantic Ocean in Cape May. The kids enjoyed playing shuffle board and ping pong.
Wednesday evening we stopped briefly at the Cape May Migratorty Bird Refuge and then returned to Sunset Beach to watch the sunset.
On Thursday morning we visited Cape May Point State Park. We first hiked 2 miles through the marsh and found the Cape May Point Lighthouse Trek geocache. Then we explored the lighthouse itself.
Our last stop before returning home ... we located the Mile Zero geocache, located at the Mile Zero Marker on the Garden State Parkway.
